Yeah, its a tossup, for sure. Who knows, I might go back to drupal, but the blog parts of drupal don’t seem as mature as in wordpress. Since thats primarily what I want to do right here, I thought i’d give WP a try.

Funny, I did the opposite and switched from WordPress to Drupal not too long ago. Drupal does seem slower, but I haven’t really optimized it yet. I’m a programmer and when I tried to enhance my WordPress code it started to become annoying so I switched over.
The jury is still out as far as I’m concerned but I do like the Drupal programming model better. WordPress is definitely easier to get to a properly functional state though.

Should be ok now. Think I had the internal link on there.

Wordpress does pretty spiffy page-level file caching that works quite well. Drupal did caching, but only in the DB (never cared enough to dig down to making it file based). That accounts for a heck of a lot of the speed.

I'm set up at dreamhost, and the database servers are 'far' from the webservers, so it incurs a bit of latency. Not having to go back to the db for everything helps.

Yeah – the little captcha plugin I installed is pretty basic, but I think I’m going to add onto it to do some of the things I mentioned in my previous CAPTCHA post.

Puppies and kittens though – I think that might distract people enough to not post

(I can think of a few good ways to do that one, too).

Onyx, novel captcha! I’m going to have to try something like that. I enjoy the one about placing a box of puppies, and having the submit button be the kitten that doesn’t belong.
